If you are accessing Whappz from a restricted region you will be asked to verify you are 18 or older. Age verification is a one-time requirement for your account that should only take you a couple minutes to complete. If you have any issues completing the verification process, you may open a support request.

Why do I need to verify I’m 18+?

New laws in restricted regions require adult platforms to ensure only those 18 years of age or older can access these services from within a restricted region. Age verification is not only required for legal compliance; it will assist our efforts to ensure our users are legitimate and most importantly, adults.

How do I complete the age verification process?

We are partnering with YOTI, a trusted leader in user verification, to independently handle your data and protect your privacy.

The majority of users will only need to supply a selfie of their face. Your age will be estimated by YOTI. If you are blessed with a youthful appearance, you may also need to submit a photo of your ID.

How often do I need to do this?

You will only need to complete the process once. It will last for as long as you keep your Whappz account open.

What do I need for my selfie?

You’ll need a device or computer with a working, high quality camera. Many smartphones, tablets and laptops sold today have embedded cameras. If you’re using a desktop computer you’ll need a functioning webcam. You may be asked to enable camera access in your web browser.

Do you have any tips for a successful selfie?

To ensure a successful YOTI selfie verification, take clear, well-lit photos where your entire face is visible and unobstructed by hats or masks. Avoid shadows and ensure your eyes are open and visible without glare or reflections

I can’t take a selfie. Why isn’t my ID enough to prove I’m 18+?

Government regulations mandate that submitted ID is also compared to a live captured selfie of the user.

How is my privacy maintained?

Whappz does not receive any identity information except for the date verified and method used. YOTI deletes the image of your face as soon as the verification algorithm is finished. If you are asked to scan your ID, YOTI deletes it as soon as the verification process is completed, or within 25 hours for incomplete sessions.

Will Whappz know my real name?

No. Whappz does not receive any information about your identity, even if an ID scan is required by YOTI.

Will Whappz know my actual age?

No. Whappz does not receive your estimated or true age. The result of a successful age verification only confirms you are 18+.

What happens if I do not complete age verification?

If you’re accessing Whappz from the United Kingdom or Australia you will not be able to use your account until you complete the verification process.

I’m traveling through a restricted region, why am I being asked to complete age verification?

Government regulations require that you complete verification if you are accessing Whappz from within a restricted region.
